Ingredients

For the Base
  • 2 cups vanilla ice cream softened slightly for blending; you can use soft serve for ultimate authenticity
Mix-Ins
  • ¼ cup caramel-filled chocolate truffles chopped
  • ¼ cup praline-toasted almonds or candied pecans store-bought or homemade
For Garnish
  • 2-3 whole caramel-filled chocolate truffles for garnish
  • 2 tablespoons caramel sauce store-bought or homemade
  • 2 tablespoons praline-toasted almonds additional

Equipment

  • cocktail shaker or mason jar
  • measuring spoons

Method

  1. Start by softening your vanilla ice cream slightly to make it easier to mix. Place the ice cream in a mixing bowl and allow it to sit at room temperature for about 5-10 minutes.
  1. Gently fold in your chopped caramel-filled chocolate truffles and praline-toasted almonds (or candied pecans) into the ice cream. Be careful not to overmix, as you want the mix-ins to stay intact.
  1. For a smoother, combined texture similar to a true 'blast,' use a food processor or high-powered blender to blend everything together until slightly creamy but still textured quickly. Alternatively, you can keep it layered by folding the mix-ins lightly with a spoon and leaving some structural variation in the dessert.
  1. Scoop the ice cream mixture into serving bowls or glasses. Drizzle a generous amount of caramel sauce on top. Sprinkle on more praline-toasted almonds for crunch.
  1. Finish it off with 1-2 whole caramel-filled chocolate truffles on top for a beautiful touch. Serve immediately for a soft consistency, or freeze for about 15–20 minutes if you want a firmer texture.
