A tangy, refreshing frozen cocktail that combines pickle juice with tequila, lime juice, and simple syrup for an authentic copycat version of the popular bar favorite.

Ingredients
  

  • 3/4 cup pickle juice from dill pickles, not sweet or bread-and-butter varieties
  • 2 oz blanco tequila silver tequila, mid-range quality recommended
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice fresh is significantly better than bottled
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup
  • 2 cups ice crushed ice works best but regular ice cubes are fine
  • 1 tbsp pickle brine salt for rimming

  • pickle spear garnish
  • lime wheel
  • jalapeƱo slices for heat
  • cucumber slices for freshness
  • splash olive juice for a dirty picklerita

Equipment

  • cocktail shaker or mason jar
  • measuring spoons

Method
 

  1. Rim a glass with pickle brine salt by moistening the rim with lime juice and dipping into the salt.
  1. Add pickle juice, blanco tequila, fresh lime juice, and simple syrup to a blender.
  1. Add 2 cups of ice to the blender.
  1. Blend until you achieve a slushy, frozen texture.
  1. Pour the mixture into the salt-rimmed glass.
  1. Garnish with a pickle spear and lime wheel if desired. Serve immediately.
