Ingredients

  • 2-3 scoops Vanilla ice cream softened if needed for easier scooping; use good quality for best taste
  • 1/2 cup Hot fudge sauce store-bought or homemade; warm until smooth and pourable
  • 1/4 cup Roasted and salted peanuts provides salty crunch to balance sweetness
For Garnish
  • Whipped cream optional
  • Maraschino cherries optional
  • Extra fudge optional for more playful presentation

Equipment

  • cocktail shaker or mason jar
  • measuring spoons

Method

  1. Warm the hot fudge slightly in the microwave or on the stove until it's smooth and pourable. Don't overheat—it should still be thick and gooey.
  1. In a tall glass or parfait cup, add 1-2 tablespoons of hot fudge sauce. Spread it evenly at the bottom.
  1. Place a scoop of vanilla ice cream over the fudge layer. Use a spoon to spread it gently, ensuring you can get distinct layers in your parfait.
  1. Add a layer of roasted, salted peanuts on top of the ice cream. This provides the salty-crunchy contrast that defines the treat.
  1. Add another layer of hot fudge, ice cream, and peanuts. Repeat until your cup is full (or until you run out of ingredients!). Reserve a few peanuts for garnish on top.
  1. Drizzle one final layer of hot fudge on top, sprinkle a few peanuts, and, if you'd like, add some whipped cream or a cherry to complete the presentation.
