Ingredients

  • 1 cup Orange Juice freshly squeezed or pulp-free
  • 1/2 cup Milk whole milk or dairy-free alternative
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 1/2 cups Ice Cubes
  • 1/2 cup Frozen Orange Segments optional
For Garnish
  • Whipped Cream optional

Equipment

  • cocktail shaker or mason jar
  • measuring spoons

Method

Prep Your Ingredients
  1. Measure out all the ingredients and keep them ready. If you're using fresh oranges, peel and freeze a few segments beforehand, as they make the drink even better.
Use a High-Speed Blender
  1. Add the orange juice, milk, water, sugar, vanilla extract, and ice cubes to a blender. If you're using frozen orange segments, toss those in too. A powerful blender is best for creating that smooth, frothy texture.
Blend Until Smooth
  1. Start blending on a low setting to combine the ingredients, then gradually increase the speed to high. Blend for about 1-2 minutes, or until the mixture is creamy, airy, and completely smooth.
Taste and Adjust
  1. Give it a quick taste. If you prefer a sweeter taste, add a touch more sugar. For a thicker drink, add a few more ice cubes and blend again.
Pour and Enjoy
  1. Pour your homemade Orange Julius into a tall glass and serve immediately. If you want to get fancy, top it with whipped cream for a dessert-like treat.
